Well, I’ve resisted as long as possible, but here we are. Today, January 10, 2008 I offer my first foot in a blind step of blogging. It’s the unknown. The grey. Spooky.
I feel the need to establish some basic parameters. What’s my bloggy supposed be about?
In short, it’s about me. Mostly for professional topics as a commercial illustrator and designer to express my true feelings to the world about what I do and what I’m currently working on. The funny thing is—this nagging question remains in my brain: who cares? I mean how self-indulgent is it for me to devote a recurring source of information about… well, uh… me?
The truth is, I follow many friends blogs and find it inspiring. Living life. Conveying ideas. Sharing success. Vetting vulnerabilities. It’s actually magically fantastical in a humanly way and can only be expressed via soulless computers. Three cheers for technology.
Along with the professional commentary that I plan to provide, I cannot separate my work life from the rest of my incredibly rich life of various relationships, responsibilities and curiosities. For those of us who share working relationships between us, it’s time to get to know each other better. For those of us who share personal friendships between us, it’s time to get to know each other better.
For all these things I get to share with you I am most excited.

Very, very nice. That’s what I’m talking about. I’m just disappointed you couldn’t find an alliteration for conveying ideas. Cognitions? Comprehensions? Conclusions? Conjectures? Convictions?

Your updated site looks great. The Flash nav at the bottom works great and I like not having to click through to the other pages. You should put all 90+ images up – jk.
On terms of illustration – I’m 37 years old and still trying find a niche – unlike yourself who found it long ago and stuck with it. Luckily, I worked at an agency that told me that most storyboard artists are old dudes. I must be old because I just got my first storyboard job last week after dreaming the idea up of being a storyboard artist almost 10 years ago. The comment was a nice relief though!
